Using photographs, videos, renderings, and models, the display examined how the firm’s nonprofit status enables it to take on ambitious projects and how its collective organizational structure supports its mission to address society’s most challenging problems through socially conscious design strategies.

The exhibition explored MASS’s business structure, demonstrating how the firm utilizes a collective organizational structure to further its mission. Other components included a review of MASS’s “Impact-based Design Methodology,” through which the firm establishes a specific mission for each project and determines metrics for assessing the results, as well as how the group’s locally fabricated approach encourages the use of local building traditions and technologies in a project.
