Ana Fernández Martínez is deeply committed to promoting communal resilience and wellbeing through design. Her work explores the social responsibility and impact of the built environment on individual and social justice.

As a Design Director at MASS Design Group’s Boston office, Ana leads design processes with a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, advocating for the mission of collaborating organizations at every stage of the project. Her expertise lies in projects that explore trauma-informed design theories including the Haven shelter for survivors of domestic violence in Bozeman, MT, the new headquarters for Children's Services in Roxbury, MA, and the Embrace and 1965 Freedom Plaza in Boston, MA.

With international experience working with renowned firms such as Lacaton & Vassal Architects in France and Clavel Arquitectos in Spain, Ana has gained valuable insights into diverse cultural and urban contexts, enriching her understanding of architectural practices.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Ana has contributed to academia as a guest lecturer at the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey and as a teacher of the Proyectos Zero studio within the Architecture program at the University of Alicante.

Ana holds a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from the University of Alicante and the Technic School of Madrid (ETSAM). She received the Extraordinary Final Career Award for her academic achievements and a distinction for her thesis titled "Exo-urbanismo Re-programado," which critically examines social exclusion resulting from architectural and urban design practices in downtown Paris.

Driven by her commitment to social impact, Ana advocates for an equitable and sustainable built environment by creating inclusive spaces that address community challenges and promote well-being through architecture.
