Francisco is passionate about social housing. He believes that everyone deserves access to a healthy environment where they can thrive. As a Design Director at MASS, Francisco manages housing projects with a focus on promoting community and health by embedding principles of trauma-informed design. He has successfully delivered projects such as the J.J. Carroll Redevelopment, Solimine House, Weeksvillage, and Brooke House. Before joining MASS, Francisco practiced architecture in Spain, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, the UAE, and the USA.

Francisco has taught design studios at Parsons School of Design, Tecnológico de Monterrey, and the University of Alicante. He has spoken widely on the role of architecture in the social, cultural, and environmental crises on platforms including the AIA National Conference, Autodesk University, Harvard University, and the David Rockefeller Center. 

Francisco holds a Master in Design Studies with distinction from Harvard University and a Bachelor and Master of Architecture with distinction from the University of Alicante. He is the recipient of La Caixa, Tempo, Sekler, RCC, and Harvard CSFP fellowships. His work has been shown at the 15th and 16th Venice Architecture Biennale. He is an AIA International Associate and LEED Green Associate.

Francisco is the author of the book “How to Make Ice in the Desert: Architecture to Restore Planetary Health,” and sends a weekly letter to readers around the world.
